In a striking 1897 tobacco advertisement by Alphonse Mucha, a glamorous woman tells us, "Paris cigarettes are the best!" Although the advertisement is in Spanish, it originates from France. During that era, cigarettes were commonly associated with women, while cigars were considered the preferred choice among gentlemen. See this image on a greeting card!
