Forget about the Great Pumpkin; we're all in for the Corn Man with a Pumpkin Head (with radish legs?)! This delightfully eccentric character, accompanied by his feline friend, was brought to life by the artistic hand of Bernhardt Wall in 1908. They embody the captivating charm that collectors find in unique antique postcards. See this image on a greeting card!
Bernhardt Wall (1872-1956), known as the "Postcard King," was a prolific American postcard illustrator and lithographer active during the early 20th century. His enduring artistic legacy is primarily tied to his immense contribution to the world of vintage postcards. His postcards featured a wide range of themes: his popular Sunbonnet Babies comic scenes, patriotism during WWI, American history, and the imagery of the American West. His postcards, numbered in the thousands, offered a nostalgic glimpse into the American past, and his originals are highly valued by collectors today!
