This cherry-adorned lady is delivering a tray of congratulatory wishes! She originates from a liquor advertisement by Georges François for Kodak Cherry, "apéritif aux cérise" (cherry aperitif). She undoubtedly makes a grand greeting card for a birthday or any congratulatory occasion!
Georges François (1880–1968), known by his signature "Géo," was a French painter, draftsman, and graphic artist celebrated for his landscapes, genre scenes, and architectural motifs. Born in Saint-Gourgon, France, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Tours and under Jean-Paul Laurens in Paris. François exhibited widely at prestigious venues, including the Salon d'Hiver, Salon de la Marine, Salon des Artistes Français from 1910, and the Salon des Indépendants from 1921 to 1958. In addition to painting, he designed posters, stamps, and wall decorations, showcasing his versatile talent and keen eye for visual storytelling.
