SABENA is an acronym for The Societé Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aérienne was Belgium's national airline. Founded in 1923, SABENA operated flights to European destinations as well as Belgian colonies. This stylish 1938 poster, advertising the the Savoia-Marchetti engine, magnificently conveys the idea of speed and modern technology. See this image on a greeting card AND on a notebook!
While the artist responsible for a number of SABENA travel and airline posters from the same era is identified as L. Kreuzen, further details about their identity (including their first name!) remain elusive. Despite this mystery surrounding the artist, their talent shines through in the captivating artworks they created for the airline's promotional materials.
