Is it sinister or sweet? You decide! This image first appeared as a captivating Christmas book illustration by Frances Tipton Hunter from the 1930s. In this scene, a young boy and his loyal pup display excitement and a touch of apprehension as they eagerly await Santa's imminent visit. It's a feeling that transcends generations, evoking both the childlike anticipation and the nostalgic memories of adults, making this image a true holiday classic. See this image as an art print!

Frances Tipton Hunter (1896-1957) found her artistic calling early on, illustrating children's fashion in art school. She had a penchant for watercolor and a deep love for portraying children and pets in her art. Her popularity soared in the 1920s when she introduced beloved paper dolls in magazines. Her work graced the covers of popular magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post, Woman's Home Companion, and Good Housekeeping. However, her true claim to fame came in the post-World War II years when she became the era's most renowned and best-selling calendar artist. Hunter's art, filled with innocence and nostalgia, particularly in depicting children, has left an enduring legacy in illustration.
