Description

Following the immense success of The Wizard of Oz, the book's eccentric illustrator, W. W. Denslow, embarked on a unique artistic journey by relocating to an island in Bermuda in pursuit of fresh inspiration. With retained rights to some of the iconic Oz characters, he continued to illustrate their adventures in this exotic setting, exemplified by the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman on the Water (1905). Bermuda's influence is evident in this piece's vibrant colors and island landscape. Although we categorized it as a Halloween image, its magical allure transcends seasons!
