Gracing the cover of The Enchanted Forest (1921), a collaborative effort by the talented husband-and-wife duo Grenbry Outhwaite and Ida Rentoul Outhwaite is a scene that beautifully captures the essence of magical friendships. Set against the backdrop of this cherished Australian tale, we find ourselves in the company of Anne, a young girl who embarks on a remarkable journey through her beloved forest. After a fall from her horse, she is guided by her loyal rabbit, Potty, who undergoes a magical transformation into his fairy form under the cover of night. This enchanting exploration leads Anne to discover the forest's secrets, where talking animals, fairies, witches, and goblins await, bringing her face to face with a world she has never seen before. It's a whimsical adventure into the Outhwaites' imagination. See this image as an art print!
