Théophile Steinlen (1859–1923), a Swiss-born French artist, was prominent in Paris's bohemian and artistic circles during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Known for his exceptional skills as a painter, printmaker, and illustrator, Steinlen's work often captured Montmartre's vibrant and diverse scenes, where he lived for much of his life. His iconic posters, including the renowned Le Chat Noir, became synonymous with the bohemian spirit of the era.
