Grace Drayton (1877-1936) was an American illustrator and comics artist, best known for creating the iconic Campbell's Soup Kids and the Dolly Dingle paper dolls. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she began her career as an illustrator for various publications, including children's books and magazines. Drayton gained widespread recognition for her charming and whimsical illustrations, which often depicted children and animals in playful scenes. Her distinctive artistic style, characterized by round faces and expressive features, became instantly recognizable and beloved by audiences of all ages. She is credited by some as being the first successful American woman cartoonist!
